Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Ulgio is a SaaS platform operated by Mietec GmbH, Tychbodenstrasse 3, 4665 Oftringen, Switzerland (CHE-364.036.829) ("Mietec GmbH", "we", "us"). Ulgio provides an AI-powered virtual employee that answers phone calls, WhatsApp messages and web form submissions on behalf of business customers. Contact: privacy@ulgio.com.
2. What data we collect
- Business customer account data: company name, contact person, email, phone number, billing details, provided when a business signs up for Ulgio.
- WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) data: when a business customer connects their WhatsApp Business Account via WhatsApp Embedded Signup, we receive and store the WABA ID, phone number ID, message templates, and an access token issued by Meta, strictly to operate the connected account on the customer's behalf.
- End-user message data: the content of WhatsApp messages, phone calls, and web form submissions exchanged between our business customers and their own end customers, processed so that our AI system can generate and route responses.
- Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, and usage logs of our dashboard, for security and troubleshooting.
3. How we use the data
- To operate the connected WhatsApp Business Account: send/receive messages, manage message templates, and register phone numbers on behalf of the business customer who granted access.
- To provide AI-generated responses to end-user enquiries on behalf of our business customers.
- To bill business customers for the Ulgio platform service (Meta bills message usage separately, directly to the business customer).
- To maintain, secure and improve the Ulgio platform.
We do not sell personal data to third parties, and we do not use WhatsApp Business API data for purposes other than providing the service requested by the connected business customer, in line with Meta Platform Terms and WhatsApp Business Policy.
4. Who we share data with
- Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd — as the provider of the WhatsApp Business Platform, message content and account metadata pass through Meta's infrastructure to be delivered to end users.
- Supabase (database hosting) and Hetzner/Cloudflare (infrastructure), acting as data processors under contract, solely to host and run the Ulgio platform.
We do not share data with any other third party except as required by Swiss or EU law.
5. Data retention
Message and account data is retained for as long as the business customer's Ulgio subscription is active, plus a limited period required for legal, accounting and dispute-resolution purposes. Business customers may request deletion of their data at any time (see section 7).
6. International transfers
Data may be processed in Switzerland, the EU/EEA, and the United States (via Meta's and our infrastructure providers' data centers), under appropriate safeguards (Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) / EU GDPR standard contractual clauses where applicable).
7. Your rights
Business customers and end users may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data, and may object to or restrict certain processing, by contacting privacy@ulgio.com. Business customers can disconnect their WhatsApp Business Account from Ulgio at any time, which revokes our access to their WABA.
8. Security
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures (encrypted connections, access controls, and least-privilege API tokens) to protect the data we process.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to business customers by email or dashboard notice.
